Welcome!  I'm Stacy Wills, a contemplative artist, and lover of mystery and beauty.  I combine a variety of traditional mediums   with digital technology in a process I call sacred altering.   At its heart, sacred altering  is about  transformation.  It is about taking something as far as it can go within the scope of one's own natural ability and then traveling beyond that limitation in a different  realm to bring forth something new that could not have existed any other way.      
  
My journey as an artist began as a quest really...a quest to find a creative outlet.   For several years, I focused solely on creating mandalas.  More recently, however, I have branched out artistically, the results of which can be found here, as well as on this site.   


For me, art is a way to express the inexpressible, a creative urge to which I must surrender.  It is the way of Beauty...a spiritual path....and a means of healing. Art enables us, as Thomas Merton said, to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.


As an artist, I am largely self-taught, and therefore I learn by doing...and oh, how  I do love to learn!  I enjoy experimenting with various mediums and methods,  techniques and styles  and in the process, making them my own.  A guiding element in my work deals with exploring the intersection of creativity and spirituality.   The creative process I embrace is an organic, intuitive one.  In essence, I create by playing - with shape, color and light.   I love to ask questions and I'm passionate about sharing what I've learned thus far with others.  In short...I love the whole art-making journey!
